Maid Cafe is chapter 62 of the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai light novel series. It is chapter three of volume six.
Summary
The Neighbor's Club discuss their club's participation for their upcoming cultural festival. Sena firstly suggests on having a maid cafe which Yozora coldly rejects. Sena preaches that a maid cafe is the bread and butter of every cultural festival with the others also backing up Sena, though Yozora stresses that there is no way for her to serve costumers, much to everyone's agreement. Irritated after hearing her club-mates' comments, Yozora points out that they too share her dilemma. To prove against Yozora's claim, Kodaka demonstrates in acting sociable but results only in shocking his club-mates for his intensifying performance.
Kodaka then questions Rika on serving costumers, which prompts the latter to wittingly volunteer demonstrating in being a maid. Rika asks Kodaka to shut his eyes as she changes into the appropriate maid uniform. After Rika finishes changing and presents herself in maid garb, Kodaka is left puzzled as he finds Sena and Yozora holding off their laughter due to Rika's actions whilst changing in which Kodaka has not caught a glimpse.
After being told to go out the club-room, Kodaka re-enters and is subjected to abusive service by the tsundere maid Rika. The others, including Kodaka, rate her performance to be of poor taste. When Rika asks Yukimura for her opinion and advice, Yukimura states that the essence of being a maid is a heart devoted to Kodaka.
Afterwards, Sena is next to demonstrate herself in being a maid and tells Kodaka to go outside the club-room as she changes. Re-entering, Kodaka is astonished by Sena's natural performance while the other girls fling insults at Sena for her 'tight' appearance while wearing the maid uniform. Before downing on his coffee, Sena casts a "spell" on Kodaka's coffee, as Yozora coldly stares at Sena in silence. Afterwards, Sena storms off the club-room after she hollers of not going in a maid cafe in weekends and hence, Yozora declares that they will not be doing a maid cafe for the festival which the rest agrees upon also.
Later that day, before heading home, Kodaka returns to the club-room in an attempt to ask Yozora (who was still in the clubroom) about Rika's prior actions while changing which led her and Sena to the point of laughter. Entering the clubroom, Kodaka immediately sees Yozora wearing the maid uniform. As Yozora stammers for an explanation, Kodaka simply smiles and exits the club-room. That night, Yozora texts Kodaka that she was only wearing the maid uniform to check for stretches and tears with Kodaka replying by stating he is aware.
